Daydreaming…It’s Not Really That Bad, Is It?

August 21, 2010

We’ve all done it before and probably most of the time it can be unconstructive and a waste of time.  BUT, I found myself the other day having a little daydream myself as I was doing something that HAD to be done, but at the same time it was a calm time where I could meditate on the day.  Before I knew it that little daydream session was quite CONSTRUCTIVE!  Check out the video below to see what I mean…

As I mentioned in the video, do you have methods to help you create new content on your blog? If so please comment below and share!

Hey Roz! You are definitely right about taking the time that we have to do certain tasks and utilizing that time for ideas, goals and things that will truly help us along our journey here.

I personally do this when I am cleaning, driving, making dinner or just even running errands. I utilize mundane tasks to bring about my creativity and ideas. (This is why I always have a notebook and paper with me wherever I go)

    Awesome video! :)

Hey Roz ~ nice to meet you here in your video :-)

the whole day dreaming thing….. I’m guilty of doing it this ALL the time. I’m at my worst when I’m driving lol I am always phoning home and leaving messages for myself on my own answering machine so when I get home I can write out my huge list of ideas! Its very effective though, I totally agree with what you say in your video
    Great Post
    cheers

Awesome Nat! I totally hate that feeling when you know you came up with a good blog post but then forget to write it down! So that is a good idea to call your house and leave a message for yourself :). Thanks for being on my blog!

Great post, Roz! I definitely like the idea of bunching different kinds of activities together to get the creative juices flowing. For me, one of the best ways to think of ideas is from things around me, such as things that I watch or read. There is a meta-narrative in a lot things, and in others (especially reading about informative topics), a review and dissemination of information works best.

You are so right…you can get ideas out of almost anything if you just take the time to meditate about it. Thanks!

The people who say daydreaming is a bad thing are the same people who keep their ideas firmly in the box. Sometimes my daydreams are the only time to myself I get all day!
