I forget where I was online…you know how sometimes when you are working and you inevitably get side-tracked. Well I ended up on someone’s blog and came across this video below. What a powerful testimony to those parents about the power of daily affirmations! Just a little background on this little girl Jessica from her Dad’s YouTube channel page:
- She had just turned 4 when this was recorded
- She is now 13 years old
- Her parents help her with daily affirmations every day!
So here is the video!
WOW. That’s all I have to say! Can you imagine starting this from a VERY young age and seeing the fruition of it as she grows up?? What an awesome thing to do for our children! I would like to start doing this with my own children as I know a lifelong habit of saying out loud what you are thankful for can only have a positive impact.
For me personally, as a family we always pray before we eat and before we go to bed and as for my 4 year old she hears us thanking God for the beautiful things we have in our life. So we do this as a part of our family routine…but there’s nothing wrong with adding in some positive affirmations in the morning to start off her day! I’m a firm believer that the more positivity we have around our children the better they are all around. I hate to say this but I have seen before a constant negativity in some parents and you can really see how this affects the children.
For my kids though I try my hardest to always see the positive (of course disciplining them so they don’t take a run of me lol!) Although I do make mistakes as we all do, it’s important, SO important to show our kids love and surround them with a blanket of safety, warm love, and encouragement and boy they will FLOURISH!!!
So what do you think about this? What do you do for your kids to help them grow up with a positive outlook on life? And please, by all means if you found this helpful or valuable please share the love on Facebook and Twitter! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Now this adds a whole new meaning to the word Hutspa doesn’t it.The truth is I think a lot of us have this level of determination and authentic expression as children and the as we grow up something stops us. I guess it’s different for everyone but that seems like the thing to be on the look out for when working with kids, to see when it is that they start to curb their inspiration. I know my son was like this little girl when he was her age and then by mid teens – and all that peer pressure – he was a totally different kid. Takes a while to reconnect after loosing it too.

Alison, I think what happens as we grow up is our world has a constant state of negativity around it. What sells? What do you see on the news, it’s CONSTANT negativity all around us! We have to fight against that and it is SO incredibly hard to do! But it’s seeing the light in all of it, like this short little video that helps.
It’s refusing to let that negativity to get inside and develop a change in attitude. For our children, they don’t know how to do that so it’s up to us to teach them how to sort through it all.
But the most important thing to remember that even if life gets us down (which it undoubtedly will) it’s never too late to get out of that negative state of mind…so it’s not to late for your son! :)
It’s hard work but we both know it’s worth it :D. Thanks for stopping by today to comment!

We can always use something that is more positive in our lives if we see that we’ve got some negativity hanging around us. Thanks for stoppin’ by Anthony!

Wow Roz! Thanks for sharing this :)
As you know I just got a baby girl, it is a whole new chance for me to get her on the right path for life. I will definitely do my own affirmations daily again (I don’t know why I stopped!) and will get my daughter do this (when she talks :)
Thanks Roz!

It’s amazing what these little steps we do for our kids every day can do for them in the future. Your daughter is still very young so she’s going to thank you when she’s older!

Wow!! That sweetie will be a powerhouse adult! What would this world be like if every child was taught to unshakeable – unwavering belief in themselves. The power of affirmations is key to success in every area of our lives: life and death is in the power of the tongue!
Thanks so much for this post! Made my day!
